Girl, 11, says uncle raped her

An 11-year-old was raped by her uncle in sitio Candangas, Barangay Caduawan, Tabogon town, Sunday afternoon.

The victim identified the suspect as her uncle Renato Dichos, 65, married and a resident of the place.

SPO2 Samuel Malazarte said the victim claimed she has been raped by the suspect since last year although she could not remember what month it started.

Malazarte added that on November 6 in the afternoon while the victim was watching television in the house of the suspect, Dichos whispered to her to follow him to a bamboo grove.

There the suspect stripped naked, undressed the girl and raped her.

After the incident, Dichos held a kitchen knife against her and threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone about what happened. Then the girl saw her father Cesar approaching them after realizing what had happened and the suspect ran away.

The victim was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for medical examination.

The suspect was arrested by Tabogon policemen, he is now detained at the Tabogon police stockade as appropriate charges are being prepared against him in court. - Norvie S. Misa, Correspondent
