A 69-year-old patient at the Mandaue City Hospital allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside the comfort room of the hospital yesterday morning.
SPO1 Roberto Peteros of the Mandaue City Police Office Station 1 disclosed that Francisco Palomares was admitted to the hospital after he figured in a road accident few days ago.
Early yesterday, Palomares, of Don Andres Soriano Avenue, barangay Centro, Mandaue City, reportedly left his room to answer the call of nature but failed to return after several hours prompting the hospital authorities to look for him.
Peteros said nurse Anthony Colina and caregiver Lito Mayol then found Palomares' lifeless body hanging on a nylon cord inside the comfort room of the hospital.
Mandaue City health officer Dr. Oscar Quirante said they would look into the incident.
