Gwen, 5 PB members to China for tourism forum

Five Provincial Board Members will accompany Governor Gwendolyn Garcia to China this Monday to attend a tourism-related forum.

Provincial Board Member Agnes Magpale, who heads the committee on tourism said PB members Jose Maria Gastardo, Juan Bolo, Carmiano Kintanar, Victor Maambong and she will fly to Jilin, China with the governor for the East Asia Inter-regional Tourism Forum.

The organization is made up of nine provinces from nine countries of which Cebu was indorsed as the only province member in the Philippines.

Magpale said Cebu is one of the founding member provinces of EATOF in 1999.

This in turn will include Cebu among the tourist destination packages in the Asian region.

This according to Magpale is like the macro version of the Suroy suroy Sugbo or regional tour packages.

Magpale said joining the contingent is Cebu Association of Tour Operators Alice Quiblatin and Dr. Milagros Castillo Espina representing the academe.

She said both are vital representatives since aspects on marketing and education will be discussed. - Ferliza C. Contratista
