A 16-year-old boy, who the police said was a homosexual, was yesterday detained at the Waterfront police station stockade while a rape charge is being prepared against him for molesting a five-year-old girl in barangay Tejero last Tuesday morning.
Police investigators said the boy, being a close friend of the girl's family, has been helping take care of the girl. One of his duties included giving her a bath before she goes to nursery school, something that he was doing around 11 a.m. that day.
It would have been the usual matter but the girl had complained to her mother that her genitals were aching and told her that the boy allegedly inserted his finger into her genitals while he was giving her a bath the day before.
This prompted the tanods to go to Pier 3 last Wednesday afternoon where they arrested the boy and took him to the police station.
The boy admitted molesting the girl but said he was high on drugs when he did it. He did not elaborate further. - Ryan P. Borinaga
