Association of Barangay Council head and councilor Osmundo Manreal yesterday said there is a need for the creation of the BOC considering that there are lots of barangays in the entire province that do not have concrete boundary lines from each other.
Manreal said he shares the same sentiment with other barangay leaders in the towns of Cordova and Ginatilan and other municipalities and component cities where disputes in boundaries remain unresolved for a long time.
This, according to Manreal, hampers survey plans on areas where probable investments could prosper.
The call has prodded Provincial Board member Victor Maambong to include the ordinance creating the BOC on boundary disputes in this Monday's session.
Maambong will do a re-filing of the ordinance on the creation of the BOC that was vetoed by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia earlier this year.
Garcia's veto message said that though the BOC's role is essential, the granting of P50,000 for every commissioner for every case handled is too much.
