Tuburan barangay tanod chief hacked

A barangay chief of tanods in Tuburan town is now in critical condition after he was hacked by his best friend last Friday afternoon.

Wilbert Yap, alias Kim, a cousin of Tuburan Mayor Rose Suezo, sustained a wound on the head after being whacked by his best friend and neighbor, Zenaido Cagay, with a bolo.

Yap, the tanod chief of barangay Dos, was immediately brought to Tuburan District Hospital but was transferred later to Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City for his serious wound.

PO3 Raul Jamiro of Tuburan Police Station said that based on their investigation, Cagay's a 10-year-old child was hit by the "luthang" of the victim's son.

Upon knowing the incident, the suspect spanked his own son that prompted his elder brother to intervene, which irked the suspect and chased his brother with a bolo.

But when Yap saw Cagay chasing his brother, he told him to stop. But the suspect faced the victim and hacked him in the head.

"Nasuko man gud ang suspect nga giingnan siya sa biktima nganong magdaladala og sundang unya dili itigbas ,busa ang biktima na nuon maoy iyang gitigbas, imbes ang igsoon",Jamiro said.

The suspect is presently detained at the Tuburan Police Station, pending the filing appropriate case against him. - Flor Z. Perolina
