The highly successful Shopwise brand pioneered the hypermarket concept in the Philippines 14 years ago and is known for its affordable quality, everyday freshness, budget-friendly variety, fast and fun service.
Since it first opened in Filinvest Alabang, millions of customers have made Shopwise their shopping destination of choice because it is the most comfortable, practical and efficient place to shop for a complete selection of fresh goods, groceries, clothes, toys and home accessories all under one roof. Value-conscious customers flock to Shopwise to enjoy its attractive prices, wide aisles, clean surroundings, quality merchandise and the overall shopping experience. Now, Shopwise has come to Cebu in one of its biggest branches, at present located in Basak-Mambaling along N. Bacalso Avenue.
During the grand opening of Shopwise, guests of honor were Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, Congressman Eduardo Gullas and Mrs. Norma S. Gullas, and of course, the young and energetic Rustan Supercenters, Inc. President Bienvenido “Donnie” Tantoco III who came all the way from Manila to be present on this auspicious occasion…the opening of the first Shopwise branch outside of Metro Manila.
By the way, Shopwise is owned and operated by Rustan’s Supercenters, a member of the Rustan’s Group of Companies that also runs Rustan’s chain of supermarkets. Rustan’s was the first Manila retailer to operate in Cebu in 1985 and has always believed in the Cebu market. Thus, the entry of the first Shopwise branch outside of the National Capital Region and the second one outside Metro Manila.
And oh yes, congratulations to Jaja Chiongbian Rama and her group who did a wonderful job for Shopwise during the grand opening!
Tomorrow, March 9, Amparito Llamas Lhuillier will be conferred the Doctor of Humanities (Honoris Causa) by the University of San Jose-Recoletos at 4PM at the Center for the Performing Arts, USJ-R Main Campus.
To dear Amparito, congratulations!
