Culinary Canada at Marco Polo

Last February 24, the Canadian Embassy, represented by Embassy of Canada-Manila Senior Trade Commissioner and Second Secretary (Commercial) Alex George, and Marco Polo Plaza Hotel launched the food festival with a Tasting Event and Cooking Demo.

During the week-long food fest, Café Marco presented a special buffet offering that was sure to excite seafood lovers. Be it for lunch or dinner, lovers of seafood savored the finest and freshest authentic seafood prepared the Canadian way by Marco Polo’s very own Canadian Chef Luke Gagnon. Canadian oysters, crabs, lobsters, fish and shellfish dishes alongside Café Marco’s international buffet favorites were served on opening day.

Present during opening were: Honorary Consul of Canada in Cebu Robert Lee and wife Anna; Embassy of Canada-Manila ladies Yvette Buendia, Trade Commissioner (Agriculture, Food and Beverages) and Angel Cachela (Trade Commissioner Service); Marco Polo Plaza Resident Manager Julie Najar; Marco Polo Plaza Banquet & Catering Manager Tess Catipay; MPP Events Coordinator Aireen Mansueto, E-marketing Manager Yummy Mariot, and Marco Polo Plaza Hotel’s assets Kyra Cabaero, Media Communications Manager and Belle Lumapas, PR Officer.

The cooking demo that followed after the opening event had authentic Canadian ingredients with Chef Luke Gagnon leading the cooking demo. Culinary school and industry leaders were invited to join the cooking demo event.
