Canvas turns 2 in October
CEBU, Philippines - In celebration of its second year anniversary on October 3, Canvas Bistro Bar Gallery joins the world in celebrating Pink October by participating in activities to raise funds for FREE breast screening.
Pink Tea Package
To start off, Canvas offers the Pink Tea Package: a snack box worth P125 that includes a pink cup cake, a sandwich and a slice of either bread and butter pudding or Pink Lamington, and a 3-in-1 coffee or tea bag. This merienda concept can be delivered to offices and homes for a minimum order of 10. Opt to have it in the restaurant between P200 to P600. Twenty pesos per order goes to free breast screening. According to a press statement: "This package obtained its inspiration from Australia 's biggest morning tea. In October, companies, offices, civic group, colleges or simply group of friends get together to have morning or afternoon tea in the office or at home, with each person attending contributing money towards breast cancer research."
Pink Chefs: A Degustation for A Cause
In culmination, on October 26, Chef Steve Shrimski together with all-female chef team composed of Tessa Escano Fernan, Lor Torres, Elaine Miles, will whip a four-course degustation dinner entitled "Pink Chefs" pegged at P1000 as Canvas' final call for support. Upon arrival, a glass of Pink Guava Non Alcoholic Mojito will be served then Chef Chef Tessa's Earl Grey and Shiitake Smoked Duck Salad with Honey Ponzu Dressing teases the palate. Another set of palate pleasers follow: Chef Lor's Puff Pastry Mille Feuille layered with Herb Marinated Roast Pumpkin & Bell Peppers with Feta Cheese, Toasted Nuts & Semi-dried Tomato Pesto, as well as Chef Steve's Caramel Vinegar Glazed Roast Pork Loin filled with Apricots, Apples & Spinach, Pommes Berny & Panache de Verduras. Lastly, Chef Elaine's Mixed Berry Ice Cream with Belgian Cookies will is a sweet cap. This set meal includes two wines to taste: Fat Bastard Rose and Charlotte St. Shiraz Cabernet. Automatically, a P 200 donation per pax will go to free breast screening.
"As we move on into another year, our commitment is to maintain the quality we are known for, continue to introduce variety to sustain interest.The next step is to develop further our catering service, which has been launched this year, mainly serving corporate clients like Globe, SGV, Insular Life, Standard Chartered, Innoland to name a few. The idea is to provide a service to those who wish to entertain with quality of food as a priority," said Eya Shrimski, owner of Canvas.
