CEBU, Philippines - The University of the Philippines Cebu Humanities 1 students of Prof. Ligaya Rabago-Visaya organized a "Short Film Festival" last March 24, which featured the short films made by the students themselves, as well as their paintings and sculptures.
The event was initially just part of the final requirement for the said subject. However, for grades and for fun, the students gave the best they could in organizing the said short film festival. And the audience was just as thrilled as the Humanities students upon watching the films.
Each film was critiqued by three judges composed of mainstream film veteran Ron Heri Tan; a film enthusiast and current Political Science student of UP Cebu Paolo Bago; and former theater and film actress Blessy Gokotano.
The Best in Cinematography award was given to "Droplets," which also won as the Second Best Film while the Best in Direction was awarded to "Tinta," which also won as the Best Film. The third Best Film was given to "PP-Ang istorya sa usa ka amang." (FREEMAN)
