Carla Marie Salimbangon Yeung, eldest daughter of Hongkong business magnate Carlos Yeung and philanthropist Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung will walk down the beautifully-decorated aisle of the historic Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral as she takes for her lifetime partner her long-time beau Chris McKowen at three o'clock this afternoon. His Eminence Ricardo Cardinal Vidal will officiate the wedding ceremony.
Pencil-slim and pretty bride Carla will be wearing a Monique Lhuillier creation fashioned from her atelier in Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California. Her Mom, Mariquita and younger sister Jewelle will wear Monique's gowns as well. Chris, the good-looking groom will be in black tuxedo and black tie. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Graham McKowen of England.
One of the sponsors who will fly all the way from California is Susan Casden, a resident of Beverly Hills, CA. Last September, Susan got the Wallis Anenberg Public Service Award from Operation Smile International and it was Kit who presented the award to her at Beverly Hilton. Some of the sponsors are former President Joseph Estrada, Vice President Jejomar Binay, Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, Rep. Benhur Salimbangon, Rep. Imelda Romualdez Marcos, Governor Gwendolyn F. Garcia, Ambassador Phillip Lhuillier, Ms. Laarni Enriquez, Mayor Michael Rama, Mrs. Elizabeth Quisumbing, Mrs. Amparito Lhuillier, Dr. Vivina Yrastorza, Reno Sondhi and many others.
After the church rites, cocktails will follow at the Mediterranean Room of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel. Thereafter, dinner will be at the Pacific Ballroom. Lady guests are expected to be in long gowns and the men in black tie. Cebu's 400 will be in attendance as well as international guests. It's a cinch that Chris' and Carla's wedding will be in the annals of the history of the Queen City of the South as the wedding of the decade!
