In a no-holds-barred book, Cebuano author, John Eric S. Taburada, has compiled the “hard facts” about the country. The book, “Amazing Archipelago,” is Taburada’s way of contributing to awareness about the country as it serves as a travel guide for both locals and foreigners alike.
At first reading, the book may seem to scare you, but as you continue through the pages, it is actually an entertaining read about this country. The author said that this is an unbiased book about the truths and myths that abound in the country that makes the Philippines unique and lovely as a country although sometimes thought of as a nation of eccentric people.
“It’s unique because I expose the ugly side of the country, baga negative ang approach and in the end positive diay,” Taburada said. “I want to teach foreigners what Philippines is like.”
He also said that this book, launched in the 10th of October 2010, is also his advocacy, in his humble way, to help Filipinos to learn more about their country.
Taburada grew up as an artist and often won in competitions when he was in grade school. He developed his interest in the arts as he grew older, but he is also a keen enthusiast of science and Psychology.When he was abroad, he also developed his interest in cooking and even started to upload videos on how to cook popular Filipino dishes. He is a traveler and an adenture seeker, but his desire is always to find ways to help others through his deeds.
