Make Your Own 3D Glasses
CEBU, Philippines - 3D movies continue to be popular, especially among the younger generation. (Just ask all of the Hannah Montana fans!)
THINGS YOU’LL NEED:
• Poster board or card stock
• Tape
• Glue
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Paper
• Sheet of red acetate
• Sheet of blue acetate
• Beads or other
• small decorative items
INSTRUCTIONS
1. On a piece of paper, draw the basic design, for your frames. You need to draw the front and two side pieces that will hook over your ears, just like regular glasses.
2. Trace these designs on poster board or cardstock. (Make sure they will fit your face, by measuring as best you can.) Cut out all three pieces. Cut eye holes in the front piece.
3. Tape the side pieces to the front piece, using tape.
4. Cut out one piece of red acetate and one piece of blue acetate. (They need to be larger than the actual eye holes.) Tape the red piece over the right eye and the blue piece over the left eye.
5. Decorate the frames with markers, colored glitter, small beads, stickers or anything else that you have on hand.
TIPS & WARNINGS
• Depending on the movie, you may have to wear the glasses inside out to see the 3D effect. (Sometimes the colors need to be switched, for the glasses to work.)
• You can buy colored acetate in almost any craft store.
• Don’t make your frame design too fancy. It will be hard to cut out, after it is transferred to the cardstock. (Source: www.ehow.com)
