We salute this gentleman from the bustling town of Argao,

Helping us grow and putting us where we are now

He was the unselfish mentor to most members of the press

In his sudden demise, we all pray he may rest in peace

He was an icon, a symbol of great inspiration

With his charm, press freedom regained its distinction

His value to us is precious, he is irreplaceable

This time we convene thinking of his death as unbelievable

Friends, let me share with you some nice experiences

Cerge acted not only as critic, but also as my boss and friend

In lively parties we sometimes saw each other

We puffed cigarettes together and downed some beer

From his humble beginnings he carved a name for himself

He was a big man on campus, a respected student
