Gala Filipina on July 31

CEBU, Philippines - Gala Filipina will be presented by the Cebu chapter of the Consular Corps of the Philippines on July 31 at 7:00pm at Salon de España of Casino Español de Cebu. It will launch the 50th anniversary since the founding of the Arts Council of Cebu in 1960. Arts Council became a foundation in 1990.

 Cebu Holdings Inc. is the sole sponsor of the event to promote its Amara project in the municipality of Liloan. A profile of it will be presented to the guests during a brief program before dinner. A booth at the entrance of the ballroom will also provide informative material.

The evening’s welcome remarks and rationale will be given by Arts Council’s President Petite Garcia and Honorary Consul of Spain Jaime Picornell, Chairman of the Cebu Consular Corps.

Guests in attendance are requested to come in Filipino attire which means Barong for the men and Filipiniana gowns for the ladies.

Officers and members of the Consular Corps as well as officers and trustees of the Arts Council with their respective partners will be called to take a walk about and around the dance floor. They will stay in place for the opening waltz.

All those present will be asked to join the dancing couples and remain for the dance music that will ensue. It will be provided by Roland Suarez (live) and DJ Bong Suzara (recorded).
