CEBU, Philippines - Working for a newspaper is toxic, what with the events we have to cover and the deadlines. So one Wednesday, I decided to relax by going to the spa upon the invitation of Plantation Bay Resort and Spa’s Mogambo Springs.
Mogambo Springs, which was given the Best Spa Experience Award during the 2009 Asia Spa and Wellness Gold Awards, is designed to resemble an 18th century Tokugawa Japanese village. The moment I entered the spa premises, I had no choice but to forget the workload I left in the office and relax. The welcoming smiles of the attendants, the sound of the waterfalls, and the peaceful environment can really make one forget about hectic schedules, deadlines and appointments!
The waters at the main waterfall basin and the hot spring were very inviting that I had to try them first before having my massage. Good that I came in early. One important thing to remember when going to the spa is to stick to the schedule given to you. If you want to try the facilities at Mogambo Springs before having your massage, then you must come early.
After a refreshing dip and a cup of tea, my spa therapist Cely, who I learned is one of the best therapists at Mogambo Springs, then led me to one of the rooms for my massage. I chose to have full body aromatherapy massage. The pressure from Cely’s hands, which was just perfect, and the cool music playing inside the room eased my tired muscles. The soothing scent of lavender cleared my mind from all worries. Two words came to mind at that moment - spa heaven.
Too bad spa heaven had to end, though. After an hour of pure relaxation, my mind and body were ready to face the hectic schedules, the deadlines and the appointments again. I was relaxed, rejuvenated and revitalized at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa’s Mogambo Springs.
