The cool summer sea breeze welcomed quite a number of the metro’s party people at the Cowrie Cove Chill-out Bar of the Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa when the resort hosted another full moon party some weekends ago. The good 30 to 40 minute drive was not an issue, judging from the good turn-out of guests who partied ‘til a little past midnight, enjoying every minute of it under the full moon.
Considered as the mid-summer night’s dream party, guest DJ from Philadelphia, DJ Blaze, rocked the house with his impressive talent. The evening’s highlight was the summer fashion spectacle featuring some of Cebu’s distinguished ladies doing the catwalk, all donning the collections of one of Cebu’s best designers, Salvador Malto and What A Girl Wants. No less than Monch Ceballos, another Cebu’s best, directed the show. Noticed that night were former ramp goddesses in the 80s and 90s Merce Abellana-Brenner and Queenie Malingin-Amann, both still in tip-top shape and definitely proving that indeed they can still do business even though they are in their 40s now.
