CWL Matron Queen 2008

The CWL archdiocese of Cebu marked its annual Christmas gathering and coronation of CWL Matron Queen 2008 recently at the Grand Convention Center with a colorful coronation night. Mrs. Josefina D. Melon was crowned CWL Matron Queen of 2008. Her royal courts of honor were Mrs. Nelia Ceniza, first runner-up; Mrs. Eugenia Aton, second runner-up; Mrs. Delia Morri, third runner-up; and Mrs. Hermenia Navarro, fourth runner-up.

The affair started with a Eucharistic celebration by Msgr. Julito Cortes, DD Auxiliary Bishop of Cebu. After the Mass, dinner and ballroom dancing followed. Mrs. Rosalind C. Canga was the master of ceremony.

The CWL Archdiocesan officers are Ma. Letecia S. Go, president; Rosalind C. Canga, 1st vice president; Elisita D. Alberio, 2nd vice president; Fredesvinda Y. Biore, secretary; Panfila Q. Guanzon, assistant secretary; Adoracion G. Niñal, treasurer; Tita Ong, assistant treasurer; Clarita G. Tumulak, auditor; and board members Gloria R. Bacalso, Fe. V. Buguero, Beatriz M. Cabangca, Severina A. Garcia, Zosima V. Labrador, Patria A. Osorio and Carmelita M. Seno. Felisa L. Agudo is the consultant. Honorary consultants are Atanasia M. Ouano, Lucia R. Segura, Milagros Y. Tan, Angeles J. Eizonda, Cleopatra B. Tangarorang, Lydia A. Toledo, Floren Viajar, Lolita R. Berdin and Lourdes T. Duque. Advisers are Beatriz P. Rama and Natividad A. Cortes. His Eminence Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, DD and Msgr. Cayetano M. Gelbolingo, P.A. spiritual directress.

Popular broadcasters Max Andrino a.k.a. Daloydoy and Sam Costanilla are the main stars in “Bahakhak ug Katawa,” a fundraising show of the Cebu Association of Media Practitioners (CAMP), Inc. slated on Saturday, March 28, 7pm at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Theater for the Performing Arts in Lahug.

They will be doing a lot of stand-up comedy plus some songs to be rendered by guest artists like acting Mayor Mike Rama, commentator Bobby Nalzaro, band performer Jun Jereza, the USPF AB Music Department and Cebuano poems to be delivered by Camp’s Jun Juezanm, Cesar Albor and Romy Limpangog while Cecil a.k.a.
