No dull moments in San Remegio Beach Club
CEBU, Philippines – Get ready with your aviators; we’re getting closer to the most exciting season of the year - Summer! This is the time when sunblock’s market value increases, pretty dresses are in the highways for the picking, beachbums are on a high, flipflops flap around, skimpy bikinis sell like hotcakes and resort bookings are crazy. Other than those, summertime is heaven!
If you are in search of a Holy Week jaunt venue or a summer spree destination, San Remegio Beach Club (Sports & Leisure Resort) is gearing up for summer and is getting ready to give every bakasyonista a taste of paradise amidst a tropical landscape. This pride of the north is a sprawling resort, an eight-hectare property that can host corporate events such as teambuilding workshops, seminars, conventions and conferences; special occasions and parties because of its convention center and is an avenue for leisure for trippers.
Picture this: A morning walk in the beachfront or a breakfast for two near the swaying bamboo trees with the horizon as backdrop; who wouldn’t compromise to get up early and make use of the vacation leave? A definition of an ideal vacation is when you and your folks never get bored while being contained in the resort of choice. There’s a swimming pool with an 8-sitter Jacuzzi, children’s pool, basketball, volleyball and badminton courts, billiards, board games, videoke and children’s playground — all set to cheer up a lonely (read: bored) soul. The club is the closest you can get to a potion for your dull moments.
General Manager Mark Anthony Ynoc is keen on taking care of his three horses, imported from Masbate, for his contribution to adventure tourism — mountain trekking with the horses. Sounds exciting! Perhaps, Mark would set up a horseback riding range in the future for guests to experience the Wild Wild West adventure.
The sea also beckons for everyone to commune with the marine species. They recently opened a marine dive center with PADI instructor Saar Kara as the manager. San Remegio has the longest shoreline in Cebu, having listed eight marine sanctuaries, and therefore, the opportunities to explore the underwater world are endless. Dive packages are offered, as well as open-water diving course is given to diving enthusiasts. Underwater caves and about four to six different kinds of sharks are attractions of the San Remegio waters. So, put on those diving gears. Yet, if you fancy island hopping, there’s surely a way you’ll get to experience such! That’s a good thing about beach resorts, they make sure its beachcombing options are quite numerous.
Cafe Gloria is an asset that GM Mark Ynoc is proud of. The restaurant dons a modern Filipiniana theme with antique furniture collections positioned within the dining area. They serve international cuisine straight from the kitchen and is slowly jumping to Mediterranean cooking specialty. The Bahia Vista is yet another area to munch on pica-picas and take a sip of your favorite drink, as well as the resort’s Clubhouse.
Day trippers may also have a taste of paradise with only P100 as entrance fee and get to rent a cottage at the beachfront.
To add a dash of drama to your trip, take a stroll down the Skipper’s Lounge or at the Seapool and witness San Remegio’s sunset.
