Pangangan in Bohol - Britany in France A beautiful story of partnership

The Honorary Consul of France in Cebu, Mr Michel Lhuillier, will welcome in Cebu today a group of French girls led by Misses Yvette Le Gall. The girls, members of the association called “Enfants Pangangan Philippines, will come for two weeks in Looc, Bohol to build a playschool. This travel represents the achievement of a long term partnership between “Enfants Pangangan Philippines” and the village of Looc.

The partnership started in 2003 when Misses Yvette le Gall came to the school, Collège Saint Joseph Landivisiau, to present the village of Looc, Pangangan Island, Bohol. After the presentation, 26 pupils offered to establish a mail exchange with the children of Looc.

Later on, 11 of them decided to write a song called “Relève toi” (Stand up again) and eventually formed a group, “Onz’m.” This song became the symbol of the partnership and of a growing friendship.

In 2008, the group committed further in the partnership. Willing to help in the development of Looc, especially of the youth, they decided to launch a fund raising activity for the building of a playschool in the village. Owing to its huge success, they decided to gather educational materials and to come to Looc to set-up the playschool.
