Ranny and Nina

- Kristalle Garcia-Kekert -

The ceremony was officiated by Fr. Allen O’Brien. Opting for a classic and traditional wedding, the entourage list included childhood friend and best man John Paul Chiongbian and sister of the bride and maid of honour, Kathleen Kay Kokseng. Graced by their principal sponsors, Antonio Garcia de Escano and Lucy Garcia, Jose Mari Miranda and Jean Teves, Julio Misa and Diana Ledesma, Vincent Kokseng Jr. and Rosie Huang, Julius Z. Neri and Natividad Salcedo, Robert Quintos and Irma Atillo, Johnny Uy and Maribel Kratz, they all blessed the couple with many good wishes. The secondary sponsors were Kenneth Kokseng and Trina Molina for the candle, Christopher Vincent Kokseng and Leanne Partridge for the cord, Frederick Ledesma and Sari Jean Garcia-Malixi for the veil. Bridesmaids were Cheryl Carcel, Lallie Garcia, Kimberly Kokseng, Francesca Martinez, Kate Torralba, bridal and entourage designer as well Christine Misa, the groom’s sister. Groomsmen were Carlo Camaya, Stanley Yap, Herman Bascon, Glenn Soco, David Agustines and the bride’s brother, Kevin Kokseng. The pageboys were Trajan Ledesma for the Bible, Anton Dino for the coins and Steven Uytengsu for the rings and the flower girls were Jacqueline Kokseng and sisters, Maxine and Alyssa Partridge.

The grand ballroom of The Grand Convention Center was transformed for the wedding reception with an attractive mix of cranberry and salmon pink, and a spectacular arrangement of canopy vines put together by Teresin Mendezona. Dinner was an endless array of Chinese, Filipino, Japanese and Thai dishes, all tastefully prepared. 5-tiered chocolate and chocolate chip pound cake was beautifully made and designed by Marissa Unchuan. Fantastic photography and video by Jim Ubalde made the perfect combination.

Speeches made by the fathers, Ed Misa and Earl Kokseng and bestman, John Paul Chiongbian made the evening memorable. Kathleen Kay Kokseng also put together a slide show for the couple with photos from their childhood up to the present day, presented with songs “You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby” and “Happy Together”.

Then the moment came for the first dance where Ranny and Nina danced intimately to the song, “I Love You Just the Way You Are.” Music and dance were non-stop throughout the evening into the early hours of the morning (to usher the bride’s birthday for the following day) to the house music of DJ Hans Cogmon.

Superb honeymoon was a trip Madrid, Paris, Rome and Athens and to an exotic Greek island below the mainland, Santorini. I’d like to extend my congratulations and warmest wishes to such a wonderful couple. Ranny and Nina, may you have happiness in this life long commitment!
