A bastion of authentic Cebuano cooking since 1982, Golden Cowrie Restaurant is opening an outlet in the new Ayala Center Cebu.
The mouth-watering flavors of its best-selling crispy pata, baked scallops, adobong talong, chicken pandan, and Bicol express, among countless others, can now be enjoyed in Golden Cowrie’s newest branch—the Hukad sa Golden Cowrie.
Hukad, meaning to get from the pot to the plate and serve on the table, boasts of 120 seats and modern Filipino interiors highlighting indigenous Cebuano materials. All these will be overlooking the Ayala Center Cebu gardens.
Golden Cowrie General Manager Kenneth Kokseng said, “Hukad will have the same mouth-watering specialties at value-for-money prices, and great service as the other Golden Cowrie branches. We will still serve bottomless rice, and dishes on banana leaves. People can still eat with their hands, even.”
“Our patrons support us because of the hard work we put in producing quality food and service. It might be a cliché, but to really do it is something else,” he added.
He said that entire families go to the Golden Cowrie branch in Lahug either from fancy cars or from jeepneys, taking pride in the fact that the restaurant has good food at affordable prices—something that won’t change with the Ayala Hukad outlet.
“Hukad, however, will have are more innovative offerings,” added Operations Manager Kristine Kokseng. “Food enthusiasts can soon sample Hukad’s take on the different delectable regional dishes we have come across.”
Hukad sa Golden Cowrie’s new dishes include: roasted pata, green mango salad with sweet dilis, chicken al ajillo, sinabawan na gabi (their version of laing), Negros’ Chicken Halang-Halang, and pinakbet with ampalaya, other vegetables and tomatoes. And those are only the examples.
Golden Cowrie patrons who swear by its delicious food can now have more to recommend to their friends. Hukad sa Golden Cowrie is bound to be another testament to the excellent and sulit dining experiences that the restaurant has racked up throughout the years. So experience it for yourselves, at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.
