Savour the taste of the best of Canadian cuisine as the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, in cooperation with the Embassy of Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service, holds a two-week Canadian food and beverage festival from July 2 to 15.
The Canadian food festival at the hotel’s Café Marco will feature special Canadian menus using Canadian ingredients already available in the domestic market. These will include Alberta beef, dungeness crab, oyster, scallops, king crab legs, smoked sockeye salmon, blueberries, canola oil, and pure maple syrup.
Canada’s agri-food sector is known as one of the most dynamic and innovative agricultural industries in the world, featuring cutting-edge research, and well established regulatory systems.
Canada’s food inspection system is internationally recognized as being among the best in the world. Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) programs and inspection and sampling procedures are continually reviewed and refined to reflect the latest scientific information, new inspection technology, new processes and products, new approaches to food safety and to ensure consistency with other agencies and international requirements.
Canada’s objective is to be the world leader in food safety, innovation and environmentally responsible production and to be the best at meeting the needs of consumers at home and abroad.
