Quota Club of Cebu’s Santacruzan

A Santacruzan like no other was once again presented by the Quota Club of Cebu at the Grand Convention Center to raise much-needed funds for the club’s commitment to its mission of providing education and special skills training to hearing-impaired students belonging to indigent families.

It likewise hopes to generate enough assistance for the Day Care Centers in barangays San Jose, Guba and Sawang Calero.

The festivities began with the invocation and National Anthem rendered in sign language by the endearing hearing-impaired students.

After a moment’s silence, the procession started. Ten zagalas made their way to the beautifully decorated stage. Sweet and petite Trisha Marie Corominas as Reina de los Angeles shortly followed. She was joined by budding beauty Camille Veloso as Reina de las Flores.

Pamela Abellana lovely in a purple gown was Reina Elena, while a smartly dressed Mildon Manuel Dy Ladia was the young Emperador Constantino.

Long time Cebu resident and patroness of the arts, Sue Gray as Reina Emperatriz, looked regal in an elegant turquoise and green gown created by a designer from Hong Kong.

Special friends and loyal supporters of the club’s noble causes shared the honors during the coronation ceremonies. They included Congressman Raul del Mar,  Provincial Board Member Agnes Magpale, Honorary Consul of Spain Jaime Picornell, former Cebu City councilor Joy Pesquera, The FREEMAN Lifestyle columnist Joe Recio,  civic leader Antonio Veloso, past Reina Emperatriz Elisa Estenzo Torres and  past Reina Elena Mytha Ann Basubas Canoy.

Warmest congratulations to the women with the biggest of hearts, president Luisa Veloso, chairperson of the event and past president Cristina Corominas, vice presidents Loreta Calderon and Consuelo Garcia, secretary Evelyn Ramirez, treasurer Linda Rana, auditor Marcia Godinez, PRO Gasperlita Julia with directors Louella Abellana, Dulce Gantuangco, Felisa Gimarino, Dinah Lozada and Pinky Shan and other members who all made it possible in making a difference to other people’s lives.
