One True Love memorable for Alden Richards; Louise delos Reyes, Derek Ramsey now going out on dates

The scene in the cemetery for One True Love must be so touching for Alden Richards that the young actor couldn’t control his emotions and shed tears unabashedly. The tears just rolled as if at the flick of a finger and Alden, who had been getting good reviews for his performance in One True Love, has proven that he is indeed an actor to reckon with in the Kapuso network.

One True Love is ending on Friday after a remarkable run on the primetime slot. Slated to air for just eight weeks, One True Love was extended, owing to the interesting story and good acting of the cast, led of course by Alden and his partner Louise delos Reyes and their co-stars, the ever reliable Raymond Bagatsing, the award-winning Jean Garcia and the feisty Agot Isidro who proved to be a very good kontrabida.

Alden said he will miss his co-stars. They became one big, happy family while taping One True Love. They became close to one another and now that the show is bidding goodbye, it’s also a time for sadness because they will miss each other’s company after being together for almost three months while taping the show.

One True Love is memorable for Alden and Louise as the soap opera is their launching as a tandem on the GMA Telebabad block. Getting a juicy opportunity such as that doesn’t come easy, taking into consideration that Alden is quite relatively new in the Kapuso turf. He was, in fact, a Starstruck aspirant who failed to make the cut. But the heavens must have other plans for him because Alden is now even more popular than some Starstruck graduates.

Alden and Louise proved themselves worthy of the gamble that GMA gave them. Alden proved himself a competent performer, giving a good account of himself in his various dramatic scenes. He was likewise thankful for GMA in giving the chance to work with Raymond, Jean and Agot who gave the wannabe actor the needed motivation and challenge to make good in his scenes. With the success of One True Love, we can be sure that Alden and Louise are being primed for a new acting assignment to further hone their craft as competent actors.

The fans of Alden and Louise are asking if their idols would be given a launching film as well, in the manner that Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona were given their first solo starrer as a tandem.

At the recent press conference of his latest starrer, This Guy’s In Love With You Mare, box-office star and TV host Vice Ganda denied that he has an issue to settle with stand-up comedian Ate Gay as reported in the tabloids.

Vice Ganda said that he can’t remember an instance that he and Ate Gay had a fight. In fact, he even said that he is willing to support Ate Gay’s first solo concert to be held in November 30 at the Arena in Mall of Asia just to prove that no bad blood exists between him and the stand-up artist who impersonates Superstar Nora Aunor.

“I am willing to support him in his show by appearing in the concert provided my schedule would allow me to do so,” said the star of the latest Viva movie “This Guy’s In Love With You Mare.” He said it would not make a big dent on his career if ever Ate Gay’s show becomes successful. In fact, he is praying that Ate Gay’s foray into the comedy concert scene would be a success.

For now, Vice Ganda is busy with the promo of This Guy’s In Love With You Mare, which is his reunion project with Toni Gonzaga and Luis Manzano. The movie is directed by Wenn Deramas, who also helmed Vice Ganda’s box-office hit Praybeyt Benjamin.

He wishes that This Guy’s In Love With You Mare would earn P400 million so that it could top the record of Praybeyt Benjamin which earned P300 million, thus making Vice Ganda a phenomenal box-office star, in the league of Anne Curtis whose No Other Woman was a moneymaker at the tills.

Up to now, Derek Ramsay has yet to introduce a new inspiration (lovelife) in contrast to Angelica Panganiban who has a new squeeze, John Lloyd Cruz. That’s the reason why in the recent press conferences that he had (for the movie The Secret Affair) and when he graced the Cosplay Mania 2012, the press asked him about his ex-girlfriend.

But the gentleman that he is, Derek said that he and Angelica would not end up exchanging bitter words after their highly-publicized breakup because they have the highest respect for each other. He said he is now moving forward and his heart is totally healed from the sad ending of his relationship with the Kapamilya actress.

While he is in the process of “healing” his broken heart, Derek says he is going out on dates but would rather keep the girl’s identity a secret. For now, Angelica is the last girl in his life from showbiz, adding that it’s hard for two people in showbiz to have a relationship.

As far as his career is concerned, Derek feels fortunate to be blessed with good projects. He may have lost The Mistress to John Lloyd (he was taken out of the cast when he moved to TV 5) but he was given by Viva Films a new film titled A Secret Affair where he is reunited with Anne Curtis (his partner in No Other Woman) and Andi Eigenmann.

He is also likewise playing a superhero in Kidlat, the new TV show on TV5 that would replace the eco-fantasy Enchanted Garden. He is also set to start Amazing Race Philippines for the Kapatid network.
