CEBU, Philippines - Cebuana singer Vina Morales wowed Cebuano audience as she performed during the Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2011 opening salvo at the Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu. Local talents like the Wonggoys band from the Wong clan of International Pharmaceuticals, Inc. were also featured. The event officially marked the start of this year’s month-long CBM celebration.
CBM 2011’s line-up of activities are intended to promote Business Beyond Boundaries as it continues to highlight Cebu’s key industries such as Tourism and ICT/BPO by bringing in more stakeholders through thematic conferences on June 24 at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel and on June 28 at Radisson Blu Hotel respectively. Creative entrepreneurship is also being emphasized by a two-day convention called the “1st Cebu Creative Industries Summit” on June 21 – 22 at Cebu City Sports Club.
CBM 2011 also acknowledges business opportunities in other industries that contributed much to Cebu’s economic upsurge through a forum titled “Emerging Industries: How we see the future” on June 16 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Another highlighted event is the four-day “EntrePinoys Expo” with daily learning sessions featuring “Go Negosyo” and topics on “Multiplying the Business via Franchising”, “Building an Entrepreneurial Organization” and “Financial Literacy for Entrepreneurs”. All these will be at SM City Cebu Trade Hall and Conference Hall.
As part of its advocacy, CBM 2011 shall continue last year’s thrust in going green through a forum about the “Environmental Business Industry” on June 15 at Harold’s Hotel Cebu. Here, several investment and business opportunities of creatively greening and cleaning the environment will be presented.
This year’s event also gives significance to Cebu’s heritage and music by celebrating Cebuano ingenuity through the “People Series: Talento Cebuano” on June 17 at the Ayala Activity Center as well as rewards successful and inspiring entrepreneurs during the Grand Chamber Awards and Fellowship Night on June 30 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu.
