It seems that a lot of fans of the John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo loveteam have hidden hate feelings towards the Box Office Queen’s mother, Mommy Divine.
This I realized last Thursday afternoon during my radio program OkRyan over dyLA 909 khz ,( 3-4pm, Mondays to Fridays), when a listener accused Mommy Divine of being very strict on Sarah as far as issues of the heart are concerned. I know where the listener is coming from; she was disappointed over a report some days ago that the Box Office King really courted Sarah after they were paired in the highly-successful “A Very Special Love” and “You Changed My Life”But the courship was supposedly aborted Divine intervened.
So I reacted by saying that I’m in favor of Mommy Divine, because without her motherly guidance and affection Sarah would not have become an endearing and wholesome young woman, which is her biggest selling factor aside from her genuine talent. So I asked the listener what is her problem with Mommy Divine’s intervention? She reasoned that if not because of Mommy Divine, Sarah and Loydie would have been lovers in real life now.
I am fan of Sarah. I want her to remain single now that she is on top of her game. Even if I get thrilled with Loydie’s smile and I admire his acting ability, I still don’t want him to become Sarah’s boyfriend. I believe in the so-called love on the rebound. Therefore Mommy Divine was right to declare that John Lloyd should first settle the issues surrounding his past relationship before he would court another girl or enter into a new relationship.
Besides, it is my belief that you can never mix love and career. You must serve only one master, as in the Bible that there is no such thing as serving God and, at the same time, glorifying money.
So, in Sarah’s case, by joining show business she really means business. A boyfriend should be none of Sarah’s business right now, especially that she is still young and is very much in demand as a multi-media star.
Besides with her hectic schedule, what time could she possibly give her would be boyfriend? And if it’s going to be John Lloyd, how can they find time for their relationship when they are both in demand?
I’m more thrilled looking at them on screen with their undeniable chemistry. Should the romance become real, the excitement that comes with watching them together will never be the same again.
Finally, let’s not hate Mommy Divine because mother always knows what is best.
By the way, Sarah will hold a concert on July 31, at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of Cebu City Waterfront Hotel as part of her Sarah on Tour concert series. This one, I’m sure, would be a monster hit because as early as May, my listeners from Bohol and neighboring provinces have been asking me of the exact date of her concert so they could finally watch her perform live.
Last week, my Cebu-based listeners, who are Sarah’s fans, said they would come to the venue full force. Therefore, it is safe to say that the Popsters (Sarah’s fans club) in the Visayas have been saving money for quite some time now just to be able to support their idol in terms of ticket sales.
