1 More Entertainment Promises the Biggest Urban Music Fest in RP History this January 10 at CICC

Good news for house and trance music fanatics: the biggest and first international electronic and urban music festival to ever hit Philippine soil will be staged in Cebu. This 2009, make way for Cebu Urban Music Sessions Uno.

‘I have been to house extravaganzas before, but I have to admit that the venues and events I went proved to be lackluster and not good enough for the amount of money I paid for the tickets. But organizers of Cebu Urban Music Sessions to be held this January 10 at the Cebu International Convention Center promise they will not disappoint, especially with the line-up of world-class artists that they will be bringing in.

According to Richard Sharpe of 1 More Entertainment, Inc., the group responsible for such event, “It’s the hottest spectacle to ever hit Cebu and the Philippine shores. Nothing like it comes close not even in the slightest way. Tickets are selling like hotcakes and it will be the grandest kick-off party for the year to come.” 

Richard, who graduated from a university in Vancouver, Canada with a video and arts masters degree, said that he knows every deejay on the line-up, having worked with them closely when he was based in Vancouver. Describing them as “truly the best of the best,” he said they are innovators and leaders of their specific genres, having built firm foundations for urban and underground music.  

The top-notch international DJs coming in are Max Graham (Armada Records), DJ Nu-Mark (Jurassic 5’s DJ), DJ Craze (Kanye West’s Tour DJ / 98, 99, 00 World DMC Champion) 2 x 4 with DJ Klever (00 & 01 USA DMC Champion), Krafty Kuts w/ Dynamite MC, Mat The Alien, B.Traits, Marky Mark, and MC Souldier. Max Graham, for one, is dubbed by Richard as the world’s best DJ in terms of technique. According to Wikipedia, the Canadian DJ, composer and producer has managed to transcend genres while producing international hits in the dance and music scene. He is most famous for mixing Tranceport #4, playing sets at Atomic nightclub in Ottawa and remixing the classic song “Owner of a Lonely Heart” by Yes. Max runs Shine Music and Re*Brand Records.

Rounding up the line-up are local artists DJ X-Factor, DJ Kimozave, DJ Marlon and Dynamic Duo Hans & Mael who have proven them themselves as serious players in the national club and party scene.

1 More Entertainment will transform two rooms of CICC into a sound and light spectacle like no other with Sound Balloon providing over 50,000 watts of sound. One ticket will give the partygoer access to the two rooms, wherein one will focus on RnB, Hip-Hop, Breaks and Drum and Bass, while the other will focus on House, Electro and Dubstep.

Richard started out producing action sports events before recently forming 1 More Entertainment Inc. with his good friends. He believes that we should not confine ourselves to listening to one type of music. With Cebu Urban Music Sessions Uno, they hope to further expose Cebuanos to as many music genres as possible.
