Love endangers friendship in “Made of Honor”

In this romantic comedy, life is good for Tom (Dempsey): he's sexy, successful, has great luck with the ladies, and knows he can always rely on Hannah (Monaghan), his delightful best friend and the one constant in his life.

It's the perfect setup until Hannah goes overseas to Scotland on a six-week business trip... and Tom is stunned to realize how empty his life is without her. He resolves that when she gets back, he'll ask Hannah to marry him – but is floored when he learns that she has become engaged to a handsome and wealthy Scotsman and plans to move overseas.

When Hannah asks Tom to be her "maid" of honor, he reluctantly agrees to fill the role... but only so he can attempt to woo Hannah and stop the wedding before it's too late.

"It's a fun, sweet, old-fashioned romantic comedy," Dempsey says, "And it was a perfect opportunity for me to do something different but at the same time get to play a romantic character."

For her part, Monaghan jumped at the chance to explore her goofier side in "Made of Honor." "I had just completed `Gone Baby Gone' and hadn't done a full-blown romantic comedy," she says. "So I read this script and really liked it for obvious reasons, as well as the fact I was a huge fan of Patrick Dempsey and `Grey's Anatomy,' although I was too embarrassed to tell him that!" she chuckles.

Opening soon across the Philippines, "Made of Honor" is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
