Coolie Dread and the Microphone Commanders to launch new album “Water for Your Soul”
Homegrown talent Coolie Dread and the Microphone Commanders (CDMC) is set to launch their first full length album in a party called Dancehall Vibes this Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the open grounds of Tequila Joe’s located at the Ayala Food and Entertainment Center.
The “Water for Your Soul” album is a compilation of an all-original compositions of dancehall reggae that’s mixed with drum and bass, rock and hip-hop fee. It contains12 cuts, which include Dancy, Golddigger and Boonoonoonous Gyal. With collaborations with RasDavid of EarthForceMusic, Ranking Ruff, and our very own George of Santing Scalawags, Lionheart and Clayton Martinez of Pasakanin, the album is produced for CDMC by Capital records which is based in
CDMC is made up of three multi-talented vocalists Gene “Gene Gong” Caballes, Ryan “WaJahRhymes” Yu, and James “CoolieDread” D’Lonsod who also does beats and samples, together with Eric Yrigan for drums, Mark Villanueva for bass, Yani Sagun on keyboards, Dang Yrigan on guitar and Paul Cañada also on guitars. CDMC won big at the Motorola’s Rock Mo’To 2006 national competition then Crowned as the official Motorola Philippines Endorser for the year 2007.
