Lovi Poe on elopement rumors, stereotype roles

Lovi Poe just laughed off rumors that she eloped with rumored boyfriend Jolo Revilla.

“If we will do that, I am sure the whole country would know about it. My next argument is hindi naman kami ni Jolo so bakit kami magtatanan,” said Lovi at the presscon of “Kaputol ng Isang Awit” held Tuesday night at the 17th floor of the GMA 7 building.

She admitted that she and Jolo hang out a lot and spend time together but they are with friends. “We have lots of common friends so whenever we go out, we spend it with them,” Lovi explained.

“I always have a companion with me whenever Jolo and I hang out together,” added Lovi who also admitted that Jolo has been courting her for about four months now. But she maintained that she hasn’t said yes to him.

What was her reaction when she heard the rumor that they eloped? “At first, we just laughed about it. Kasi medyo maingay na talaga ‘yung tsismis pero nahiya rin kami.”

Lovi also denied that Jolo reacted to her supposed kissing scene with Marky Cielo, the other leading man in “Kaputol ng Isang Awit,” the latest sinenovela offering on the Dramarama sa Hapon block of GMA 7.

Lovi is playing a bida-kontrabida role in “Kaputol ng isang Awit,” which was inspired by the movie of the same title that starred Sharon Cuneta, Gary Valenciano and Tonton Gutierrez.

“At first, I thought how would the people react kasi nasanay sila na I am sweet. But I remember what Ate Shine (Sunshine Dizon) told me. She said that once I am giving this kind of role, grab it and show everybody that I can do other things. I can be versatile. Hindi lang ako bagay sa sweet roles. I can do any type of role,” said Lovi of her character.

Lovi plays her most challenging role to date as she plays Joanna Ambrosia, the daughter of rich businessman Julio Ambrosio (Gary Estrada) whose dream of becoming a famous recording star has come true. She is a spoiled, selfish, self-centered and insensitive lass who will do everything just to keep her star status. She envy so much her sister, Charmaine (Jennylyn Mercado), who is the country’s most popular performer.

“Kaputol ng Isang Awit” also features Glaiza de Castro, Marky Cielo, Jolo Revilla, Snooky Serna, Tirso Cruz III, Isabel Granada, Leo Martinez, and Tuesday Vargas. It starts airing on March 3, Monday on GMA Dramarama sa Hapon.

Owing to his busy schedule, Marky Cielo said he has no time for love. In fact, he also has limited time to spend for himself. He hasn’t been able to go to his hometown in Baguio City as often as he wanted to, although he was there last Christmas. But it was just a short stay and he came back to Manila after two days.

One of the lead stars of “Kaputol ng Isang Awit,” the latest offering of GMA on the Dramarama sa Hapon block, Marky is focused on his career. He is very thankful that  right after “Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan”, he was given a new assignment in the new “Dramarama sa Hapon” offering of the network.

“I don’t want to waste the opportunities coming my way. I want to make the most of the good breaks given me,” said the 19-year-old Starstruck 3 Ultimate Sole Survivor who dances very well and could give Mark Herras, the First Starstruck Ultimate Male Survivor, a run for his dancing prowess.

In the TV version of “Kaputol ng Isang Awit,” Marky plays the role of Eric Valderama, an executive at a recording company. Eric, Joanna’s boyfriend, is musically inclined and has a knack for spotting real talents. He is a very industrious young man who comes from a poor family. He earned his position in the company because of diligence and hard work. He was the one who discovered the potential of Sarah (played by Glaiza de Castro).

Marky and Glaiza are comfortable working with each other since they’ve worked before in several TV shows  like “Boys Next Door,” “Fantastic Kids” and “Asian Treasures.”

He feels challenged with his role in “Kaputol ng Isang Awit” since he goes dramatic here. After doing action scenes in “Asian Treasures” and “Zaido,” Marky has his hands full in tackling a dramatic role in the series directed by Mike Tuviera.

It’s true! They’re now a couple!

The former love team is now where they’re destined to be – back in each other’s arms in the featured episode of “Your Song” this March.

Maja Salvador and Rayver Cruz are two of the most well-known young stars today because of their talent in acting and body shaking on the dance floor! Both gorgeous, the two are well rounded artists and their chemistry is undeniable.

They are members of the popular UD4 of ASAP ’08. Maja is the Dance Floor Princess while Rayver is the Dance Floor Hottie. Other than this, the two have a long list of achievements as individuals in the business.

The two will play the parts of Andrea (Maja) and Jack (Rayver) who came to know each other through their dancing wherein their bodies grooved with the beat of their hearts.

Andrea dreams of becoming a prima ballerina just like her mom but due to an incident, she is not anymore able to do some of the dance moves of a ballet dancer. Her mom wants her to stop but she continues to fight for her love for the dance.

Just like the way she sees Jack, arrogant and obnoxious. In their first encounter, he will accidentally step on Andrea’s injured foot. Andrea gets mad at him until they meet once again and dance during their friend’s night out. Everyone is surprised to see that Andrea is also good in dancing hip-hop. Both will show what they’ve got in moving their bods to the rhythm.

In that instance, she meets Belle, the choreographer of Dansynergy (played by the dance group, G-Force with members Georcelle Dapat, Gelai Aguzar, Iko Odulo, Khel Parina, Ria Marvas, Bhe Briones, Nesh Janiola, Sherwin Casepe, Hassette Uy, PJ Montemayor and John Paul Iglesias who celebrate their 3rd year anniversary), wherein Jack is a member. They were in need of one more member to be able to join the world hip hop competition.

Andrea and Jack get a chance to know each other better. Complications arise when the two start to fall for each other, since having relationships within the group is strictly not allowed. What will happen to Mao (Valeen Montenegro), who has strong feelings for co-member Jack? How about Serge (Victor Basa), Andrea’s ballet dance partner who is secretly in love with his partner?

Just like dancing, will they surrender to the music and follow the beating of their hearts?

Another romantic song takes centerstage for four weeks in “Your Song”, directed by Jerome Pobocan also featuring the prestigious Philippine Ballet Theatre. This is “Kapag Ako’y Nagmahal” by Aldred Gatchalian, starting March 2 on Team Kapamilya! after ASAP
