Each of the seven girls though has their own story to tell. Not all of them are actually daughters of their rich patriarch. And once united, deceptions and envy rule the house just to claim the vast fortune left by their father.

Did you know that the Philippines' coconut geotextile ( a.k.a.coconet) for soil erosion control has been chosen as one of the 12 finalists in Newsweek and BBC's (British Broadcasting Corporation) World's World Challenge?

The World Challenge is basically a competition/search designed at identifying groups or individuals all over the world whose projects have contributed great impact at grass roots level.

A documentary about Philippine Coconut geotextile or coconet industry will be shown on the BBC World cable channel on September 24 around 8:30 GMT and will also be featured in the August 29 special issue of Newsweek.

"The World Challenge" already offers a tremendous exposure and publicity to our flourishing Philippine coconut geotextile industry and to our Philippine coconut fiber exporters. But it would be great liberation for our country, which has been getting very bad publicity nowadays, to win this prestigious competition.

Robin Padilla and GMA Films have started initial talks regarding the possibility of the action star doing a movie for the film arm of GMA 7. If initial talks should bear fruit, there might be a chance that Robin will do a movie for GMA Films next year. If that pushes through, wouldn't be a TV show far behind? Robin was last seen in the movie "La Visa Loca" from Unitel Pictures with Sharon Cuneta as executive producer.

Movie-TV-stage actor Mon Confiado is busy setting up the construction of the third branch of the comedy bar 22nd St. in Cebu that will hopefully open in November. In case you don't know, Mon is a part owner of the famed comedy bar located in Marcos Highway in Antipolo City and in Las Pinas, together with his sister Kai Confiado. Through his earnings in the two branches of 22nd St., Mon was able to build his own house.

"I am major investor in the third branch of 22nd St. kaya alaga ko ang marketing and promotions nito," said Mon in an interview. Mon said they chose Cebu as the site of their new branch of 22nd St. as they believe there is a big market for comedy bars waiting to be tapped in Cebu.

"We went around in Cebu and we saw that there are small entertainment bars so we thought of putting up a comedy bar. I'm sure the Cebuanos are aware of comedy bars in Manila and we are sure the Cebuanos would love to have something like this in Cebu. Besides, we can also give jobs to Cebuanos. We are even planning to tap the local talents of Cebu para maging hosts namin kaya abangan na lang nila kung kailan ang audition for sing-along masters," explained Mon.

It can be said that 22nd St is one of the pioneers in comedy fun houses nowadays. But even if he will be busy taking care of 22nd St., Mon won't turn his back on his acting career. He's in the cast of the movie "Ako Legal Wife" and in the TV version of "Panday."

The branch of 22nd St. in Cebu is located along Mango Avenue near Fuente Osmeña St. and Mon will be flying back and forth to Cebu to oversee the construction of the comedy bar until it is opened in November.
