CEBU, Philippines — Outsourcing giant Concentrix + Webhelp opened its largest staffed-site in the Philippines, in Cebu as it prepares for the surge of employment demand in the next few years.

Located at the Cebu Exchange Tower, the newly inaugurated office is the 52nd site of Concentrix the country, and the 9th in Cebu, said Amit Jagga, Concentrix + Webhelp’s senior vice president and country leader for the Philippines.

Currently, Concentrix + Webhelp employs over 100,000 full-time employees, and more than 13,000 are working in its Cebu sites.

Jagga said Concentrix is continuously adding more people, while more companies around the world have increased their requirement for outsourcing jobs, despite the entry of sophisticated technologies, like Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Generative AI, among others.

“We are seeing that we do not need as many people as we needed in the past to do the same level of work. And that’s the reality, which is not just for the BPM (Business Processing Management) business but all businesses across the world today. There is efficiency that is being built in,” Jagga said expressing confidence even after generating efficiency, “we’ll need more people in the Philippines.”

“We are in the middle of our season. As you know, there’s a lot of spending that happens towards December because of the Christmas holidays. People spend a lot across the globe. It drives a lot of volumes for us in the Philippines, and that’s what we are doing right now. We’re hiring lots and lots of people by thousands of people to make sure that we take care of the season appropriately,” Jagga said in a press conference during the formal launching of the Concentrix + Webhelp newest site in Cebu.

Last year, Concentrix opened its 8th site at the Cebu Montage building. Jagga said the Cebu Exchange signifies the company’s commitment to provide more jobs to Cebuanos.

Cebu Exchange houses over 4,500 employees of Concentrix + Webhelp and now its largest staffed site in the Philippines. It is dubbed as the “Workplace of the Future”, signifying the combination of innovative, state-of-the-art amenities that meet diverse workforce needs and sustainable facilities aligned with the company’s environmental, social, and governance focus.

The Cebu Exchange Tower site will host employees previously held offices a the two sites in i1 and i2 buildings at the Cebu IT Park. With its over 4,000 capacity, Jagga said the company just added a thousand more employees.

Showcasing Concentrix’s commitment to building offices known as “Workplace of the Future,” the Cebu Exchange site put more investments into providing a balanced environment for today’s working community such as Tech Zone, Workout and Wellness Zone, Quiet Zone, site clinic and lactation room, all-gender washrooms, and other flexible, inclusive spaces like the Entertainment and Social Zones which are multi-purpose activity areas all employees can freely use.

In her speech during the site’s launching, Board of Investment (BOI) Board of Investments-Cebu head Floreza Alpuerto, said the the over  P900 million Concentrix + Webplus project at the green tower--Cebu Exchange alone is seen to generate an estimated P1.74 billion worth of output to the economy and a projected P1.23 billion contribution to household income.  — (FREEMAN)
