CEBU, Philippines - The improved confidence of both local and foreign economic observers on the Philippine economy, supported by figures and facts, paved the way for robust sales performance of luxury automobile brand BMW.
Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW cars and motorcycles in the Philippines, targets to surpass its 2011 growth of 19 percent, as sales showed spectacular increase starting June of this year.
In an interview with Glen Dasig, executive director for sales and marketing of ACC, he said that while the sales performance in the first half of this year showed a cautiousness of the market, the June numbers, on the other hand, indicated the high confidence of the sophisticated car buyers in the Philippines.
He said the June 2012 performance registered the highest in recent years, with a total of 106 units disposed in just one month.
For this year, BMW sees a dynamic year in the Philippines, in terms of car disposal, surpassing the 792 units it sold in 2011.
Dasig was in Cebu Tuesday to grace the re-opening of the 6th BMW showroom in Cebu located at the Nivel Hills, in Lahug, under a new management of Autowelt Inc. led by Michael Ryan Goho.
From January to date, ACC has already disposed over 400 units of BMW cars in the Philippines. Dasig said this figure is expected to grow fast in the next few years as buyers have already expressed strong interest, especially for the new models to be unveiled.
During the official re-launching of the Cebu BMW Showroom, the brand introduced the All-New BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, the first four-door Coupe in the history of the brand and the perfect embodiment of aesthetics, sportiness, comfort and luxury.
Dasig said the Philippine market for luxury cars is increasing, while existing clientele also fuel its growth by buying more updated models.
BMW has been hailed as the number one luxury car brand in the Philippines for the last nine years based on the Chamber of Automobile Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) survey.
To sustain its dealership in the luxury car brand in the country, Dasig said BMW is improving its service, presence, and introduction of newer models to respond to the increasing number of luxury car buyers in the country.
After the offical launch of the newly renovated Autowelt BMW showroom in Cebu, ACC opened its 7th showroom in the country in Bacolod yesterday.
Cebu and other major urban areas in the Philippines, is considered as one of BMW’s growth drivers, Dasig said. (BANAT NEWS)
