CEBU, Philippines - Sales of memorial lots in Cebu have been undaunted by the financial challenges hounding the country.
This is so, as more and more people become educated of the necessity of preparing for the inevitable “end of one’s life,” said Angelicum Garden of Angels sales manager Charlette Cabaron.
She said in an interview that the economic crisis has not decreased nor increased the sales of Angelicum, a 7.5 hectare-memorial park located in Canduman, Mandaue City. The park is a project of Acrissor Development Corp. (Acrissor)
“Sales (are unaffected by the crisis.) More people have learned that memorial lots may not be a priority but these are already a necessity,” Cabaron said.
This is also the reason why memorial park developers, including Acrissor, are investing more on making memorial parks not only a place to bury the dead but literally a park and a “place of solace for families and visitors.”
For Angelicum, Acrissor has allotted three hectares, almost half of the development for amenities such as picnic facilities, a pavilion for private functions or masses, a playground and a lagoon area for visitors’ enjoyment.
Angelicum offers family estates designed for mausoleums, which have up to 12 to 18 lots; garden lots designed for above ground interment and have four to eight lots; and lawn lots designed for underground interment. The memorial park also has a garden columbary, an alternative use for cremated remains and bone ossuary.
Prices of memorial lots at Angelicum range from P126, 000 to P6.4 million.
Cabaron said that memorial lots are “really expensive.” This is why it would be wise for one to buy when it is not yet needed because developers offer installment plans of up to 60 months or five years.
“When the lot is needed right then and there, we don’t allow installment already. It must be paid in full,” she said. (FREEMANBUSINESS)
