CEBU, Philippines - With the continuous increasing number of depositors and borrowers over the years, Metro Cebu Public Savings Bank is confident that they would have more good years added to their already well-performed 30 years of service.

Metro Cebu Public Savings Bank located in Tabunok, Talisay celebrated is 30th year anniversary which according to its manager, Corazon Oliveras, they are pleased with how the bank is doing despite a lot of other banks emerging and also different concerns like the economic crisis that struck last year.

In fact, Oliveras said that they had a good year in 2009 where they had increasing depositors, which is now at around 10,000 in all their three branches.

Aside from the Talisay office, which is their main branch, the bank has a branch in Lapu-Lapu City and one in N. Bacalso Avenue Cebu City.

Oliveras said that the small celebration they did for their anniversary was the least they could do to give back to their clients the support they have reaped for so long.

She said that there are a lot of banks around but their clients have maintained loyal to them and have remained confident in the thrift banks’ services.

Oliveras shared that they have a lot of services offered but at present the bulk of the services being availed by their clients are on their loans particularly on the housing and commercial loans.

According to her, they have a lot of starting up families who are seeking for means to have their own houses and thriving entrepreneurs who would go to them in order to open up their own businesses or expand.

Oliveras said that they see the importance of helping players in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise sector and that these small entrepreneurs need enough help they could get since most of the small businessmen do not get a lot of support.

The MSME Business Loan is just one of the services offered by the the bank aside from their commercial loans, housing loans, industrial loans, salary loans, loans for special projects, savings deposit and time deposit.

Oliveras said that they are looking forward to implement expansion plans probably late this year or early next year. She said that they are currently looking at possible locations where they could further extend their services.
