Bryan Tiu’s In Town, RP’s top entrepreneur tells success story to Cebuanos

In its continuous advocacy of inculcating an entrepreneurial mindset to the young Cebuano generation, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) will introduce the Philippines’ successful young entrepreneur Bryan Tiu, the founder of Teriyaki Boy Group of companies.

Through its “Meet the Business Legend” program, young Cebuanos, specifically students and young professionals will be able to hear the success story straight from the horse’s mouth, as Tiu himself will inspire his young audience to pursue business, and become an entrepreneur.

“Meet the Business Legend” is one of the Chamber’s Entrepreneurship Development projects which aims to inspire entrepreneurs by providing a venue for close interaction with notable and established business leaders from prestigious companies.

Through an informal and friendly setting, the Legend shares his experiences in journeying the road to success enabling SME members and students of CCCI member schools to gather practical lessons on entrepreneurship and business.

CCCI will host the discussion with Tiu today at the City Sports Club.

Tiu was awarded as The Youngest Promising Entrepreneur in 2005 given by the prestigious Ernst & Young Global Company for serving as the model for aspiring young entrepreneurs and for ushering the emergence of Japanese casual dining restaurant in the history of food service in the Philippines. At the age of 32, he is considered one of the country’s leading entrepreneurs in the food industry.

He was cited to have made outstanding contributions to communities that resulted in employment opportunities which aided in the advancement of lives.

To date, Tiu involves himself in training the next generation of entrepreneurs by sharing his ideas and insights to young professionals through various speaking engagements.

Entrepreneurs in the food industry, students, and interested are the profile of audience of today’s “Meet the Business Legend” of the CCCI.

In the past, this particular program had invited icons in the Philippines business community, such as Splash Corporation chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) Rolando B. Hortaleza, Lamoiyan Corporation president and chief executive officer (CEO) Cecilio K. Pedro.

Splash is a Filipino company that is able to compete with the giant international personal care market bringing the Skinwhite, Maxi-Peel, BioLink Green Papaya, Extraderm brands.

Pedro, on the other hand, is the founder of a company that brought the toothpaste brand—Hapee. The entry of this Filipino toothpaste brand has threatened international names like Colgate and Close-Up.

Other successful business players who were part of the Chamber’s “Meet the Business Legends” program, included; Jon Ramon Aboitiz of the Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV),  Jajo Quintos (IBM), and Cebuano Napoleon Nazareno, the president of Philippine Long Distance Company (PLDT).
