Globe supports biggest travel expo in the Philippines
MANILA, Philippines – Globe Telecom has partnered with the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) for the 23rd Travel Tour Expo, making itself the official telecom partner as it supports the growing number of Filipinos traveling abroad.
PTTA is a group of outbound travel agencies and inbound tour operators that aims to foster unity in the travel industry and promote the welfare of its members and the traveling public.
Filipinos were one of the fastest-growing travel spenders among emerging markets in 2013, according to the United Nations World Travel Organization (UNWTO). The country’s outbound expenditure grew by 18 percent that year, second highest in the list of top travel spenders following Turkey, which demonstrated 24 percent growth.
In cooperation with the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Promotions Board, PTTA is organizing the 23rd Travel Tour Expo, the biggest event for the travel and tourism industry, which is expected to gather over 300 exhibitors. It targets travel and tourism trade practitioners, corporate and business travelers, holiday travelers, incentive and convention planners, government and business leaders, and direct buyers and investors.
The expo, which will be held on Feb. 5 to 7, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, will have games, entertainment, raffle activities, presentations from participating exhibitors and sponsors, and of course, a showcase of great travel deals.
Globe will be showcasing its flagship data roaming service, Roam Surf, which offers 24 hours of unlimited data roaming and worry-free Internet connectivity from over 80 countries around the world to its postpaid and prepaid customers.
“Roam Surf is the perfect data roaming service for Filipino travelers who want to enjoy the digital life they are accustomed to once they travel abroad,” Globe Vice President for Roaming and International Business Coco Domingo said in a statement.
“Roam Surf provides true 24 hours of unlimited data while roaming and eliminates the worry of bill shock because of its flat rate of only P599 per day. With Roam Surf, users can surf, post updates on their social networks, use their apps, share files, and even stream music and videos to complete the travel experience. Roam Surf also comes with a free 30-day travel insurance coverage for a worry-free travel that only Globe can give,” Domingo added.
The data roaming connectivity with Globe Roam Surf does not end at 11:59 p.m. The travel insurance coverage, meanwhile, protects customers from travel-related incidents such as lost luggage, damaged mobile devices, terminated or delayed flights, and other travel inconveniences.
Prepaid customers can subscribe to the promo either while still in the Philippines or when they have already reached their destination abroad by dialing *143# toll-free. Postpaid customers, on the other hand, simply need to turn on the data roaming on their mobile phones.
