Create your own hot spot with Smart Bro Pocket Wi-Fi

MANILA, Philippines – Smart Communications Inc., through its subsidiary Smart Broadband Inc. (SBI), has launched Smart Bro Pocket Wi-Fi, a compact broadband device that acts as a mobile “hot spot,” enabling multiple devices in a common area to simultaneously have wireless, high-speed Internet access.

“Wi-Fi-enabled devices such as computers and laptops, printers, gaming devices, and even cameras have become more affordable and ubiquitous. The Smart Bro Pocket Wi-Fi will allow users to create his or her own hot spot anytime, anywhere, and efficiently maximize the use of their Wi-Fi-enabled devices,” said Danilo Mojica, head of Smart’s Wireless Consumer Division.

The Smart Bro Pocket Wi-Fi allows up to five computers or devices to connect simultaneously to Smart’s nationwide high-speed broadband network.

The Smart Bro Pocket Wi-Fi is available with a Plan 495 monthly subscription and a 24-month contract, which comes with up to 50 hours of Internet access every month, at speeds of up to 2Mbps in key cities in the country. Usage in excess of 50 hours will be charged the standard rate of P10 for every 30 minutes.

The device may be amortized, at only P150 to be billed on top of the monthly service fee (MSF) for 24 months. Subscribers who will pay the MSF on or before the due date will receive five bonus hours on the next month.

Setting up the Smart Bro Pocket Wi-Fi is quick and hassle-free, and instructions are available in every kit. Application for a subscription is likewise hassle-free, and interested individuals just need to present a valid ID as proof of identification and proof of address at any Smart Wireless Center nationwide or through accredited Smart Bro agents.

Smart now serves, through SBI, over 1.32 million broadband subscribers all over the country.
