Sony Ericsson launches Satio, Aino and Kita
MANILA, Philippines - Sony Ericsson has officially launched three much-awaited handsets that fulfill its promise of unlimited entertainment possibilities in mobile communication.
The Satio, Aino and Kita are now available in Sony Ericsson Experience Shops and authorized dealers nationwide.
Satio comes with a 12.1-megapixel camera, intuitive touch focus and Xenon flash. A powerhouse in visual communication, it provides a 16:9 widescreen format on its 3.5-inch wide touch screen.
Users can tap directly to their favorites like pictures, music and even webpages. Share files easily to blogs, social networks and online communities and create Web albums with messages.
Satio is the first Sony Ericsson phone to offer ninth High Definition (nHD) gaming, a mobile High Definition TV experience directly from the phone.
Aino lets you control your PlayStation3 using Remote Play, a function that enables users to control and access the HD Drive’s media content on the PS3 using the built-in Wi-Fi or 3G connections. One can turn the PS3 on or off with the Aino, and access the PlayStation Store and buy downloadable games that can be played immediately on the PS3.
For imaging, the phone has an 8.1-megapixel camera with photo flash, 16x digital zoom and image and video stabilizer. Aino is DLNA-certified and also possesses Mac connectivity.
The unique gaming experience of motion and gesture gaming arrives with Kita, known as the Sony Ericsson Yari elsewhere. Instead of pushing buttons to play, Kita detects movements and gestures for gaming action like no other.
The phone also has A/B shortcut keys, great sound via stereo speakers, and a gaming carousel for direct desktop access to games. It comes with a five-megapixel camera with auto focus, geo-tagging and send-to-Web function. Music call lets a user share his music with one button press while talking.
“Consumers are increasingly looking for rich content, unique applications and mobile entertainment experiences that offer unlimited opportunities for them to share their experiences and this is exactly what these new phones deliver,” said Dennis Manzano, Sony Ericsson general manager.
Satio and Aino come with a proprietary solution called Media Go to transfer music, videos, photos and podcasts between the phone and the computer.
Another application, Media Home on Aino can pull Media Go stored contents over Wi-Fi.
“Home connectivity and unlimited sharing of media between devices in the home is a cornerstone of our Communication Entertainment strategy,” he added.
Satio, Aino and Kita also come with exclusive content via the Sony Ericsson Entertainment Asia portal. Each phone can be loaded with entertainment features of the user’s choice such as blockbuster films from Sony Pictures, songs and music videos from Sony Music and game titles from the Gameloft content library.
Each phone kit also comes with a booklet of discounts and raffle coupons, including an opportunity to watch the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
“The campaign to launch these new phones also involves us in a special project in partnership with SM Supermalls and UNICEF. We have banded together specifically to support the Mobile Education and Child Protection Program for Street Children,” Manzano said.
Sony Ericsson has embarked on “I-Share Ang Saya,” an entertainment showcase that will travel across participating SM Malls nationwide, giving visitors a chance to play games, watch movie previews, and download songs at the site.
The exhibit also has the special participation of UNICEF, where people can learn how to support UNICEF programs.
Exhibit visitors can also download the campaign’s theme song, “Let’s Be Happy Mga Kids” for free at the site and donate to the cause. The song is performed by various artists from Sony Music who freely contributed their time and talents.
