Scanmar ships now has Smart Link

-

MANILA, Philippines - “We are convinced that Smart’s relevant and affordable communication services via its Smart Link satellite phones, will be beneficial to our fleet, our seafarers and their loved ones worldwide.”

This was the key message delivered by Capt. Hans Haase, chairman of SCANMAR Maritime Services, during the Smart Link turnover signing ceremony held recently.

Through the partnership sealed under the Smart Link Fleet Program, Smart will equip SCANMAR’s fleet of reefers, dredgers, tankers, container ships, and passenger and cargo vessels serving over 20 countries worldwide, with free Smart Link satellite phones to provide voice and e-mail connectivity to SCANMAR crewmembers.

Smart Link is the first and only Philippine prepaid satellite telephony service that provides incoming and outgoing voice and e-mail services in areas without landline and cellular access, making it the ideal and practical communication service for sea routes.

Utilizing the ACeS and Inmarsat satellite facilities, Smart Link provides coverage over the entire Asia-Pacific region, Indian Ocean, Middle East, Africa and parts of Europe and the Mediterranean.
