-

Sony Ericsson’s in-Car User Experience was among the highlights of the 78th International Motor Show in Geneva as the mobile communications company showcased what it could offer drivers across Europe.

The exhibit offered a variety of solutions that bring convenience and ease of communication on the road.

Users of Sony Ericsson phones can now select from an extensive portfolio of easy-to-install car accessories as well as select integrated Bluetooth options from car manufacturers.

In addition, a one-stop-shop website will allow drivers to customize their journey in a number of exciting ways in any car.

Sony Ericsson’s portfolio of in-car accessories includes hands-free devices that allow users to communicate conveniently when driving. Furthermore, a range of music accessories also enable drivers to enjoy favorite tunes from their Sony Ericsson Walkman phones remotely while driving on the open road.

To increase the opportunities for consumers to easily use their phone in their car, Sony Ericsson has built outstanding partnerships with leading car manufacturers such as Saab. Sony Ericsson’s dedicated automotive program team leverages on the company’s Bluetooth expertise to ensure the full compatibility of a large selection of phones and applications. This results in providing consumers with a fully integrated experience with regards to technology and interior car design.

Bringing together all the information that consumers will need, the new website, www.sonyericsson.com/car, will be a one-stop-shop for information and online purchase on Sony Ericsson’s suite of “traveling companions.” The online portal offers drivers two virtual roads to drive down experiencing a multitude of in-car applications and features. They can also easily access the list of compatible phones per car manufacturer.

Chris Lee, vice president of marketing at Sony Ericsson Asia-Pacific, said, “Sony Ericsson is already recognized as a provider of cutting-edge mobile applications, and our presence at the 78th International Motor Show further strengthens our position within the industry.”

Lee added: “Through working with leading car manufacturers, offering accessories that further enhance the in-car User Experience and creating a unique and interactive website, we are offering a wide range of options when it comes to in-car solutions and demonstrating that we are committed to putting the consumer at the heart of everything we do.”
