Smart ties up with Angeles City for job fair

-

Since 1993, the Angeles City government has been conducting an annual job fair to help residents find local employment. This year, overseas employment was made possible in partnership with Smart Communications Inc. under Smart Pinoy, its service program for Filipino migrant workers and their families in the country.

“Through Smart Pinoy, we are serving not only our kababayans abroad, but also their families by working with local governments to provide them employment opportunities. We know that when we help their families, we are helping Filipinos abroad to achieve financial security and a better life for the entire family, which is really why many of them leave in the first place,” said Danilo Mojica, head of Smart’s Wireless Consumer Division.

Angeles City Mayor Francis Nepomuceno thanked Smart and all those who made the job fair possible.

“We hope that we can forge more partnerships with Smart to bring more services to our fellowmen,” he told the crowd.

At least 15 companies participated in the local job fair on the first day while 12 manpower agencies offered overseas employment opportunities on the second day.

The two-day event in Angeles City is the first of seven job fairs that Smart will hold nationwide for aspiring OFWs and the families of Filipinos working abroad.

Smart will also hold the Smart Pinoy Job and Fun Fair in La Union, Cavite and the cities of Davao, Iloilo, Batangas and Vigan.
