Samsung unveils 3 iconic mobile phones

At the rate new mobile phones are being churned out by so many handset manufacturers, it’s really hard for any new model to really grab attention.

Samsung Mobile, however, seemed to have done just the job with three new handsets that boast truly eye-catching specs, features and design.

The first of the trio is the Samsung G800, which aims to raise the bar in camera-phone functionality. It combines a stunning five-megapixel camera with a 3x optical inner zoom for truly high-resolution images even of long-distance shots.

The G800 also boasts an Image Stabilizer function for clear, crisp photos even for those with amateur photographic skills. Red-eye reduction and Face Detection likewise maximize the quality of portrait and people shots.

It even has an Advanced Video Editor and Mobile Blogging to bring out the auteur in every mobile phone user by allowing him to share his masterpieces with the rest of the world via the Internet.

Audiophiles, on the other hand, will rave over the G800’s ICEpower Technology by high-end audio firm Bang & Olufsen.

ICEpower enables the G800 to deliver astonishingly brilliant and powerful sound for a handheld device. The phone also sports a multimedia player and FM radio.

The other phone Samsung unveiled last Wednesday was the compact and stylish D880 dual-SIM phone. This slider phone’s dual-SIM functionality automatically switches SIM cards according to the user’s needs.

Both SIM cards on the D880 are simultaneously active and can receive calls and text messages automatically. It connects to both networks, thus eliminating the need for separate mobile phones for those who maintain two numbers. 

The D880 also offers great multimedia entertainment with its three-megapixel camera, MP3 and MPEG4 players, FM radio and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. With its more powerful 1200mAh battery, the D880 allows you longer hours of work and play.

Completing the trio is the 10.5-mm-thin Samsung P520, a signature phone by none other than acclaimed designer Giorgio Armani.

The P520 is the embodiment of mobile phone luxury by combining state-of-the-art technology with high fashion. It features a 2.6-inch QVGA TFT LCD screen, a full touch-screen user interface and a specially designed Giorgio Armani leather carrying case.

It also has unique icons, graphics, and a special waptic user interface with full sensory experience that reflects Armani’s modern simplicity.

The USB-connected and WLAN- and EDGE-enabled P520 has 50MB of onboard memory bolstered by a microSD card slot.

Samsung packs the credit card-sleek P520 with multimedia features such as a three-megapixel camera, a music player supporting various types of music formats and a full Internet browser.
