First Wi-Fi/GSM hybrid handset now in RP

Filipinos can now make calls to their loved ones abroad via the Internet and also enjoy all the features provided in the regular GSM (Global System for Mobile) communications platform with the new Seiche SPD 3380 handset, the first Wi-Fi/GSM hybrid handset from Aeonic Seiche.

Now available at Aeonic Seiche’s authorized distributors, the Seiche SPD 3380 handset is the Philippines’ first mobile phone that utilizes both Voice over the Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology and the standard GSM for mobile phones.

As a VoIP phone, the Seiche SPD 3380 allows users to make calls using broadband Internet connection. It carries a standby time of 180 hours and a talk time of 160 minutes, enabling users to communicate with the world without the need of a cumbersome PC for as long as they are in a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) hot spot.

Outside a Wi-Fi hot spot, users can use the Seiche SPD 3380 for calls or SMS and MMS under the system of local wireless service providers. For this purpose, the phone accommodates a Subscribers’ Identification Module (SIM) card provided by the telecommunications companies.

In addition to its call and messaging functions, the innovative phone is also packed with a 1.3-megapixel camera, MP3 and video recording capabilities, and a SD card slot for larger memory.

The launch of the groundbreaking Seiche SPD 3880 is in line with Aeonic Seiche’s commitment to create a digital city in Metro Manila.
