Well aware of Filipinos love for music, Motorola Philippines held a luncheon press conference last week to showcase their new Moto-ROKR E2 phone, the newest member of the companys family of music-optimized handsets.
Delivering a powerful mobile music experience, the P17,990 MotoROKR E2 lets you switch seamlessly between phone calls and music playlists with a touch of a button.
Based on a Linux operating system to enhance speed and flexibility, the MotoROKR E2 also features a robust music player compatible with a variety of different audio formats, including MP3, AAC, AAC+, and WMA music files.
"With the MotoROKR E2, consumers can enjoy the freedom and convenience of carrying their favorite music with them all the time. Motorola is giving people a seamless, mobile music expe-rience with a portfolio of devices like the new Moto-ROKR leading the way," said Mari Litonjua, marketing head of Motorola Philippines.
Litonjua added that Moto-rola is driving the conver-gence of music and mobility by combining the device you never leave home without, with the entertainment that consumers love.
One of the strong points of the MotoROKR E2 is its user-friendliness. Users make a fast connection from the device to a computer using a USB 2.0 cable. They can then just drag and drop files from their PC-based music collection directly to the phone.
Each song takes only seconds to transfer from the PC to the phone. With up to 2GB of optional removable SD mass memory, MotoROKR E2 lets you store as many as 500 of your favorite tunes, as well as create and manage playlists.
Dedicated music keys on the handsets side and front let you navigate playlists, as well as play/pause, skip backward/forward, and hold.
You can connect the MotoROKR via a standard 3.5-mm stereo headset or wirelessly via Bluetooth. It even comes with airplane mode to allow you to safely enjoy your music on a flight.
Its other multimedia features include a 1.3-megapixel camera, video capture and playback, a two-inch, 262,000-color TFT screen, PIM functionality, and an FM stereo with 27 station presets.
The new MotoROKR E2 is part of Motorolas growing portfolio of Linux-based handsets. Open-software solutions such as Linux help Motorola create ideal mobile experiences for wireless operators and consumers.
By leveraging Linux, Moto-rola can deliver products to market faster, reduce costs and create more innovative pro-ducts and experiences for mobile music, productivity and entertainment. The MotoROKR is the companys first mid-tier Linux-based device.
