Globe, Innove take CSR to heart

-
Globe Telecom and Innove Communications recently participated in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Expo 2006 held at Every Nation Leadership Institute in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Carrying the theme "Let’s Take CSR to Heart," the expo focused on the importance and the need to sustain CSR practice at all levels of business organizations in the country.

The League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) spearheaded the affair.

Globe and Innove and more than 60 other LCF member-foundations and organizations from the private sector provided support to the CSR Expo as they pledged to give business solutions to social problems in the country through CSR.

The Expo featured talks and plenary sessions facilitated by CEOs and local and international CSR experts, including Ayala Corp. president and COO Fernando Zobel de Ayala (FZA) and Globe community relations head Jeffrey Tarayao.

FZA and Mirant Philippines chairman/president and CEO Jose Leviste Jr. and Petron Corp. chairman Nicasio Alcantara, delivered a call to action during the luncheon plenary on the first day of the expo.

Tarayao, on the other hand, was part of the panel that discussed "CSR: Creating Sustainable Value for the Business" during the second day’s luncheon plenary.

He discussed how Globe’s CSR program, Globe Bridging Communities (BridgeCom), has benefited hundreds of communities nationwide while using the company’s core competencies.

CSR exhibits of participating companies were also held at the Level 3, Trade Hall A of Market! Market!
