Design & innovation in the Motorola PEBL

Motorola Inc. recently unveiled to select mediamen the Motorola PEBL, an oval handset inspired by the feel of a stone worn smooth by water and marks a significant evolution in Motorola’s mobile design.

The PEBL has a distinctive rounded shape that articulates one of the key forms in Motorola’s evolving design philosophy. While attributes such as "chiseled, thin and defined" steered the development of the RAZR, the PEBL is shaped to reflect "tactile, soft and mysterious" qualities and unveils a small yet luxurious object of desire.

Jim Wicks, Motorola vice president for consumer experience design, says, "The PEBL silhouette is created to emotionally and rationally engage with consumers. It has a character and defined personality that speak a very human and intuitive language through sight, sound and touch."

A perfect marriage of design and innovation, PEBL’s unique opening mechanism adds to the mystery and allure of this simple, yet distinctive, handset.

Its features include integrated Bluetooth wireless technology, speaker-independent voice recognition, up to 5MB of memory and a VGA camera. All seamlessly merge to deliver an effortlessly cool experience.

Following the success of the RAZR, the PEBL’s distinctive profile continues to lay the foundation for Motorola’s design strategy and product portfolio.

The PEBL will be available in the Philippines this November.
