M1 recently launched BubbleTALK, Singapores first voice SMS service that is made available to both its postpaid and prepaid customers.
Simple and convenient to use, BubbleTALK is a new and innovative concept in Short Messaging Service that is hosted and managed by Ericsson.
BubbleTALK allows a caller to leave a short voice message without intruding into the time and activity of the person he is calling. The recipient of the message will receive an SMS advising him to retrieve the voice message.
BubbleTALK is particularly suitable for those who prefer the personal touch of a voice call or who dislike the idea of typing out SMS messages on small mobile phone keypads. It also allows callers to express themselves in any of their preferred languages.
M1 customers who wish to enjoy this service simply dial * followed by the other partys mobile number and press the call button. The customer then has up to 30 seconds to record his voice message after the bubble tone.
The other party will be notified through SMS informing him that he has a Bubble message from the sender. The recipient will just have to dial *0* to retrieve the message after receiving the SMS alert.
A maximum of 10 messages can be stored at any time. If the recipient wishes to hear the messages he has heard before, he simply needs to dial *1*.
Neil Montefiore, M1 chief executive, said, "We believe BubbleTALK will complement our immensely popular SMS service and provide another convenient and easy to use option for messaging for our customers. M1s SMS service has one of the highest traffic volumes in the world with about nine messages per customer. Given time and adoption by other networks, BubbleTALK has the potential to be an equally popular channel for messaging."
