Globe bares fiesta-inspired ‘Great Island’ promotion

-
As a tribute to the rich natural beauty, cultural heritage and diversity of the country’s 7,100 islands, the Globe Telecom Business Center is trooping to the provinces with a fiesta-inspired promo dubbed "Great Island Celebrations," in partnership with Islands Souvenirs.

The campaign was launched during a recent partnership get-together at Superstore at Greenbelt 3, where executives of Globe Telecom and Islands Souvenirs came in full force to celebrate the tie-up.

Also present were bigwigs from handset maker Sony Ericsson, which is backing the regional campaign with the functional and affordable T100 phone.

Among the early birds, who incidentally flew in from Cebu, were Islands Souvenirs president Jay Aldeguer and VP for marketing Lyndon Angan.

Sony Ericsson general manager Dennis Manzano and marketing director Patrick Larraga also made an early appearance.

Not to be missed were Globe Telecom’s energetic triumvirate of regional heads – Vince Ong (VisMin), Ricky Chan (North Luzon) and Blue Avelino (South Luzon). With them were Globe Telecom director of corporate marketing Archie Monzon and media and advertising head Dodo Reyes.

"Great Island Celebrations" is the first marketing collaboration between Globe Telecom and Islands Souvenirs.

Islands Souvenirs has designed special promo T-shirts and caps, which will be given away to new G-Plan subscribers and buyers of Sony Ericsson T100 pre-paid phone kits, respectively, during special promo periods like fiestas and GTBC openings in key provincial areas.

Ailene Averion, Globe Telecom senior manager for prepaid acquisitions, noted how Globe Telecom is continually reaching out to subscribers in the regions through fiestas and events like the ever-popular Intensity G campaign.

"Great Island Celebrations is an ideal complement to Intensity G. It certainly adds to the excitement and offers better value for consumers as we visit more areas across the country," she added.

The promo will run simultaneously on Oct. 1-15 in Dumaguete City for the Buglasan Festival, Zamboanga City for Fiesta Pilar, and Legazpi City, Albay for the Ibalong Festival.
